72 blazer project

Hi guys new hear posting. I have 72 blazer frame is off etc starting rebuild. I am going with a 350, 700 r4 and a np208 transfer case. I am having a hard time locating a transfer case cross member that will work. Any ideas or do I have to custom make?

I did that years ago but don't remember what I did. I would think the crossmember from a newer blazers that come with that set up should work ( That is probably what I did). I would think the frame width is the same but may need to drill new holes in the frame. May need to put a spacer between the tranny mount and cross member to space it up or between the crossmember and the frame rail if you need to go down.

Ok thanks. I will keep trying. May just need a bigger spacer. Definitely going to be a steep little driveshaft.

I am currently addressing this problem as well. I have 5.3LS/4l60/np41 combo. I spent an afternoon searching junk yards looking for a cross member from an 89-91 blazer/burb and came up empty. Those should have a big enough drop for the front drive shaft.



I settled on a solution of buying a cheap clock ring and rotating up 20deg and using standard trans mount for the 4l60 (may need space it up a little more), but looks like it should have the clearance for the front drive shaft and sit low enough not to have clearance issues with floor pan. I can post pictures later if that would help

Finally got the right one thx. Next step turning the back axle a bit to take out some of the angle on the diveshaft. Looks pretty steep for a short little shaft.
The 4" lift springs have small wedges but not enough. I should have known better then to weld the perches on level before. I guess thats what plasma cutters are for. Live and learn.

I just moved the factory mount th 350 back and redrilled and a little modification worked fine ramjet 350 700r4 np205 in a 69 blazer with the advanced adapters short shaft in the 700r4 4 inch rough country lift aswell.
