HELP!! (power assist conversion)
CAn anyone who has done this conversion please explain in detail. I am having it done but the shop is having a hard time with the drag link. Can't find the right one. 1968 C20 changing from power assist to power steering. Is it necessary to have the current center/drag ling machined?

Re: HELP!! (power assist conversion)
I just did mine. You need a drag link from a 69-70 power steering truck.

Re: HELP!! (power assist conversion)
Good to know. Is this change required any time you change to power steering on a 67-68?
Not to hijack the thread, but I ask because in the near future I'm buying a 68 C-30, and already have the PS and PB setups ready to install. |

Re: HELP!! (power assist conversion)
Yes, the drag links are different and no one makes them so you have to get one used. Usually they are in good shape unless the truck has been in an accident. 71-72 have different tie rod end sizes.
