Crank on, Crank on...

WELL! My 70 C10 is coming along. I got the ground wires hooked up tonight and decided to see if it would at least crank (first time in about 2 1/2 years!). At first, nothing. Then I cleaned a couple connections and hooked up the charger to the battery. It cranked slowly... but wouldn't STOP when I turned the key off! I pulled the negative terminal off, checked some of the basic connections (starter, etc.) and tempted fate and tried it again. Same thing happened. It started cranking and wouldn't stop.

I've heard of this before but usually it's something obvious. Anybody have any ideas??
