Parts ID anyone?

1971 C10 402:

Pic 1: Any ideas what this retainer is for factory? My 72 has one as well. It's being used for an 8-10 gauge wire that runs to the front for I couldn't tell you it's nasty outside. It's not relevant to the 71 anyway, because the 72 doesn't have the same configuration through the firewall......That make sense? Perhaps it's for the hose to the washer bottle.

Pic 2: What's this section called? Might offer a label for the cross member, and at some point I'll have to remove it any how.

Thank you

My 72 (C20) has that same brake booster support attached to the same E-brake stud, where the retainer is. At least I think it's a brake booster support. Too nasty outside to check. Perhaps that support is for medium trucks? My 71 C-10 doesn't have one. Know what the retainer is for?

Re: Parts ID anyone?

Sorry, should have been more specific. The clip holds the wiring harness that is hanging below it. Harness was removed from the clip before the pic was taken. You're right, that's the booster support, don't know about 2wd but the 4wd's have the support rod for the booster.

I think I understand. On my truck it should have retained the harness from the plug at the fuse box, before routing through the LH fender.
