C30 after market wheels???

Who makes some nice wheels for a dually?
Have never owned a dually before, and the stock wheels just do it for me.

Any other years match the bolt pattern?

Re: C30 after market wheels???

my first dually too and I just notice, I'm running ford rims on my C30. Was going to powder coat them but I really don't want these rims, so I too, will be looking for a swap.....

Re: C30 after market wheels???

Mine is a 1972 C30 chevy that i just discovered the ford rims on the rear dually. As I posted I don't want them. So, I too will be looking for replacements. I don't want any stinking ford parts on my C30......

Re: C30 after market wheels???

What year C/30? The 67-70s had 1/2" studs and used castle-type flat back lug nuts. In '71 they went to 9/16", just like later models, and a plate with chamfered holes for typical lug nuts. Just search wheel places. I haven't shopped lately, but I see all types of styles made for 8 on 6 1/2" pattern. On a 67-70 you'd want to go to 9/16" studs. I heard Alcoa stopped making the light truck wheels.

Re: C30 after market wheels???

Sorry, I hate you too much to help . That is saweet! And, you're in luck with the 9/16" studs. Those wheels would look good freshened up. Fresh gloss black with silver bead and lug nuts (or chrome ones) would look sharp. Or, white would go with the top and camper better. The right custom wheels would really set it off

I laugh at the foolish Ford hate.

Accuride made almost every ones of those wheels for decades, GM, Ford, and Dodge. If it bothers you, a smear of filler in the Ford stamp and forget it was ever there.

I'm glad you replied and included the little smiley face so I could see you were doing it for fun.

For some reason I'm quick to jump to arms when folks do mindless hate for other brands. Any reasonable person knows that all three built good stuff. Some, maybe more gooder than the others at times, but Ford wouldn't have stayed around so long if they built crap. Even Dodge has hit a few home runs over the years. Well, maybe not home runs, but certainly some base hits.

Lmao but in all seriousness isn't it a problem that the center on the ford or dodge rime is bigger? It was my understanding that since they aren't using tapered lugs that the center being net is what centered the rim. I could be wrong but I always felt they were a little sloppy on the studs alone.

That's true. I don't remember the specifics but the center bore is different between the varieties. I have personally put Ford wheels on a Dodge a couple of times.

Now that I think about it, seems like GM has the smallest center bore so GM wheels don't interchange to the other two brands. That's just going off of memory so don't run out and buy anything based on it.

Re: C30 after market wheels???

Yes gm is smaller. I've run lots of ford and dodge wheels on pickups that were single wheel with tapered lugs but I neever swapped bud rims that were flat in the middle for the reason I stated even though I've bought a couple sets of tires that came on ford bud rims for both my 01 box van and my 71 dump. I was worried they should be out of center, especially the duals from each other as they were paired. Maybe not that big a deal but I always swapped the tires onto my Chevy rims when it came to bud wheels to be sure

Hey I am new to the forum and new owner of a 69 Chevy c30 rust bucket. So basically what i am reading is that Chevy, Dodge and Ford share the same lug pattern and wheel spacing on their dually trucks. My question is what years will fit my 69? Can i put on some wheels off of a late model Chevy, Dodge or Ford?

Re: C30 after market wheels???

I'm not sure of bolt patterns or stud size etc
We have a tire guy in town that has been in business forever
He always grabs used bud wheels when he's out and about
We have switched over from split rims on several trucks
If I remember correctly 69 and 70 the studs are thinner
And 71-72 studs are thicker (I'm not a mechanic)
So I don't know the measurements
We would just size them up and see if they fit

If you guys want the exact info pm me and I'll ask him

Seems like this thread was more about moving away from steelies
I personally like old school steel
With shinny covers

Re: C30 after market wheels???

I wish you lived closer. I could possibly take them off your hands. I'm sure shipping would be more than the wheels and tires themselves.
