Question about Stepside Rear Fender
I have a 71 stepside and I want to fill the spare tire hole on the driver's side fender. I thought someone used to make a patch to put on this to delete the spare tire mount but I cant seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone help me out with this please? Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, I have a spare fender I plan on using to cut the patch.
But if there is a good patch available that would be great. |

Come on you guys embrace your spare tire. I guarantee people dig it.
 PS: If you have your spare tire mount they are "GOLD" very hard to find.

Why not offer up a trade or sell yours.
I wanted a good spare tire fender and looked for 2 yrs.too find one. Either shipping was killer or asking price was the same as a new repop. That side fender was the last peice I needed to start spraying so I settled on a repop. I think it's super cool to have the spare up there. And the last of a long line of trucks too do so.

Same reason they had stepsides and fleetsides, small window/big window... style. Why do you need a stepside when a fleetside fits more in the bed?
Back to the OP question, no, there is no "patch" for that area. Us stepside peeps get crap for patches. There isn't even one for the front area by the step where they commonly rust out.

That's funny you say that, although I've never used it as a farm truck, in the 20 years I've owned my stepside, I don't think I've ever once used the actual steps. I didn't want to mess up the paint on them, so I just never used them.
