72 cab and want a 67

Have a 72 cab and want to make a 1967 font clip. Will it work if I get fenders, core support and hood? 72 outer cowl also or get a 67?

Don't have doors either. Will any year door (67-72) fit a 72 cab? I know that Brothers or LMC lists 72 doors separately than 67-71. What is different?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 72 cab and want a 67

As far as I know the cabs are the same, so the 67 front end should bolt right up. Buy 67 fenders, hood, core support, and cowl( I don't think there is any difference between 67-72 cowls) and you should be good to go. 67-72 doors will fit but the 72 door panels bolt up different than the 67-71. So if you get 72 doors you need to buy 72 door panels. Hopefully someone else will chime in and say I'm right or call out my wrongs.

X2. You'll also need the 67-68 grille support bracket and 67-68 hood latch. LMC now sales a hood latch with the inside cable release.

The core support mounts are different. The '67 mounting pads are about a 1/4" thick and the '72's are 3/4" to 1" thick The holes in the frame brackets are also different, the holes in the '72 brackets are larger than the '67.

Here is what member Green Machine said back in 2008:

Quote:
The core supports are really the same dimension wise, it the head light bucket thing that is different. The key here is to use radiator mount bushings that match the FRAME, not the SUPPORT. 67-68 used the thinner washer type setup with a small hole in the frame, AND the metal supports on the frame are mounted higher. 69-72 went with a larger hole and taller bushing type mount and the frame mounts are located lower on the frame to make up for the taller rubber bushings. Hope that helps.

Learned this the hard way, tried to fit some 69-72 bushings on the 68 once - no go - sat so high the bumper would not fit, and had terrible fender gaps at the door, fenders were way to high in front.

67/68s also have a "splash apron" that bolts to the core support on the bottom.
