10" wide rear wheel

I am planning on changing my wheels on the camper, i was wondering if anyone is running a 10" wide rear wheel on a lowered truck. I plan on running a 235 75 15, and my rear in lowered 7".

Re: 10" wide rear wheel

That is a pretty wide rim for a 235. I have 8 inch with 235-75/15 on the rear of my 64 stepper and I could of got by with 7 inch as the 8's make the tire look a little odd.

10's is too big for a 235/75. It might be heck even getting the bead to seal.

Re: 10" wide rear wheel

A 235 mm series tire has a 9.2-inch section width...which would be unsafe on a 10-inch wide wheel. A 275 series tire would be about the minimum on a 10-inch wheel width.

To answer your original question, yes, there is enough room for a 10-inch wide wheel in a lowered application as long as you have the appropriate backpacking. I am running a 12-inch wide wheel with a 16.5-inch wide section tire. Note the space between the frame and the bedside.

vin63, what backspace are you running? Can you post a pic of the stance of your truck?

Is this a fleetside or step side? It makes a difference.

Re: 10" wide rear wheel

Im fixing to install 285/35R20 on the rear of my 65 Fleet on 20x9.5" rear wheel. I was told that I would need probablt a 1" spacer in the rear to make it fit right. Idk if theres any truth since I havent installed yet

Without taking your own vehicle measurements your shooting in the dark.

You can check on tire sizes on a page like this: https://tiresize.com/height-chart/
