1965 c10 parking light/directional lights

Hoping someone can help me out here. Have a 65 c10 no power going to the front parking /directionals. Checked the spec sheet but can't figure it out. The plug coming out of the firewall has no power. I have head lights / rear lights. No power to the flasher plug. Really would like to know how it really works. Can someone explain. Thanks guys you Rock!

Go to the FAQ section and scroll down to the wiring section and you can get the wiring diagram for your truck. That will help you see how it all is wired.

Re: 1965 c10 parking light/directional lights

Thanks for the advice guys. Jimmy I've check the wiring diagram. I have to check the light switch. I think I had it pulled out all the way. Foothills said that the parking lights wont be lit with the head lights on. I thought they were similar to running lights. I might be just the switch position. I will check later in the day. Hoping its just a rookie mistake. Thanks guys I'll keep you posted

Pull the switch half way out for the running lights. If they Still don't work...check the grounds. Most common problem is grounds.

Re: 1965 c10 parking light/directional lights

Hey guys thanks for the help. Got the parking lights up and running! Still have to get the directionals working. Any advice? I changed the flasher. There is power there. Thinking it maybe in the directional switch. Also when I apply the brakes my drivers side brake light lights and the passengers side seems to dim. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: 1965 c10 parking light/directional lights

Go through and put a ground strap from your hood to the body. Put another one from the rear cross sill on the bed tot he frame. If you are working on a fleet side pull your tail lights out and put a ground from the housing to the bed. If a step side put a ground from the stud coming out of the tail light to the bed. This will improve things. Then on the turn signals check the plugs on the column to make sure there seated good. As you go clean and reseat the connections. See where this gets you and let us know.
