Re: 1972 exhaust manifold heat shield

Just looked at my truck and it doesn't have any of them. I'll be keeping the ones off the gmc motor.

No sweat thanks for checking. What about the starter bolts, fuel pump bolts, or tranny line bracket that mounts near the front xmember? I'm a fool for nuts and bolts

Re: 1972 exhaust manifold heat shield

I'll probably need all of that, but let me look and see what's already on my truck I'm building.

Pete, I feel your pain.

I won't haul a relic to the crusher because it still has lots of bolts.

I can't stand to assemble something with mismatched bolts.

I have several tackle boxes with bolts sorted.

Thread hijack over.

I've been obsessive about taking photos and bagging all the nuts/bolts from/for my blazer build (check out the build linked in my signature below for example pics) but get hung up at times over the finish - I'm replating my OEM bolts and with some I can't tell if they were zinc or black phosphate. I live in fear the plater will lose some. I need medication maybe. The plater has the special manifold bolt for the 4wd dip stick right now - I'm on pins and needles until it's back. Help
