rear sway bar
Has anyone installed a rear bar on their 67-72 1/2t coil spring rear? I bought a kit and have some questions that the vendor doesn't answer regarding the brackets that hold the bar to the trailing arms and the length of the drag link bolts.

I got mine from Brothers (on sale @ $99.00). It bolts (sort of, one of the problems) on to the trailing arms and points forward with the ends secured to frame by brakets and drag links (long bolts, sleeves and rubber bushings). Get a catalog from www.classicperform.com this has a good install diagram.

I have 2 problems with installation. The brackets that secure the bar to the arms are suppose to bolt up after drilling holes. Well the bar/arms intersect at an angle and the brackets aren't long enough to span across the arms to allow holes to be drilled. The tech guy at CPP admitted the illustration was wrong but didn't have an answer for how to mount up the supplied brackets. I got longer ones from Energy Susp. to span across arms but still not perfect. Other problem is length of drag links. Way to long (11 + inches) and will probably contact speed bumps, etc. The vendor didn't have any idea how the bar would react to shorter link bolts.

The brackets are 90 degree approx 1 1/2" pieces that are bolted to frame from which the drag link/bolts pass through on their way to tieing the bar ends together. If you go to the CPP link and follow it to the sway bar page you will see what I mean. My truck is lowered 4 " in back which puts the drag link / bolts to close to the ground.
