First Post! 1966 GMC Stepside Dash and Bed help
Hey ya'll, this is my first official post being an owner of a 1966 GMC Step side truck! I use to read thread after thread waiting for the day i finally owned one and now i do. I have two questions for you regarding the Whole dashboard, and assembly of the step side bed.
As for the dash, im mainly just trying to see which it is, its not the main dash that you see in most of the trucks. Searching around i see it in other trucks but mainly trying to get a name, style, or something so i can order new glovebox and items. As for the bed, im just trying to verify how it is put together in reference to the sills and all. In the picture provided the (horizontal pieces in the picture dont know why it keeps rotating my picture) are the bed strips that hold the wood in place correct? Bolting down to the cross sills (That run vertical in the picture). My main question is how do the cross sills connect to the sides of the bed because my right now is held together by the bed strips, and i imagine you can put together the sills and everything before bolting it to the frame? Hope i didnt make this too long and all, and any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Looks like a stock GMC dash with after market gauge set and a big hole in one side for something. Got to this link and do some reading. Best resource for information on putting a bed together. http://www.mar-k.com/index.php?p=tips-and-tricks

Depends on what parts you need, but I dont believe they repop either chevy or GMC glovebox doors.
You might try to keep an eye out on the parts board or: http://www.aspenautoaz.com/ http://www.4-5-6chevytrucks.com/ Some guys have had some problems with Tony- but I personally haven't. Any boneyards in your area? |
