Precision gaskets, which one for my 67 SWB?

Hi Guys

Im doing a frame off on my 67 SWB C10 stepside and need the complete weather strip kit. Precision seems to be highly recommended and the choice for most members however im having difficulty selecting which one is suitable for my shortie

CWK 1116 67: Models Without Weatherstrip Trim Groove, Small Rear Window & Black Beltlines

OR

CWK 1117 67: Models Without Weatherstrip Trim Groove, Small Rear Window & Chrome Beltlines

Here is a pic:

Not 100% sure but I'd bet the with /without weatherstrip trim groove is the windshield and back window seal.. the with trim has the chrome trim groove in the gasket for those windows, the without would be the window gaskets without chrome trim in the groove in the gasket.

Re: Precision gaskets, which one for my 67 SWB?

I see only 2 options..
not 4
you didn't post a listing with
1) Models Without Weatherstrip Trim Groove, Small Rear Window & Chrome Beltlines
2) Models Without Weatherstrip Trim Groove, Small Rear Window & black Beltlines

As seen as 2 isn't listed in your post.. only way it be #2 is if they had a part # for that combo..

You need the CWK 1116 67. I don't know who you are getting them from but their description is very misleading, and it is very obvious whoever wrote it doesn't know much about our trucks.....

Maybe this brand produces one window gasket
and the belt line.. is the gasket trim.. if no chrome it's filled with a black one..
Instead of having to make 2 different window gaskets..

Re: Precision gaskets, which one for my 67 SWB?

I looked at the Precision web page you linked to and I believe that the "beltlines" they are referring to are on the door glass felts. From what I've read on the forum, from the factory, none of the trucks, regardless of trim level had "beltlines" on the window felts. But many of the reproduction window felts currently made do. From what I've read the reproductions without beltlines are pretty flimsy and don't hold up during shipping much less installation. I have included a photo to illustrate what I'm referring to. The ones in the pic are from PUI and are of good quality from what I understand.

Thanks for the reference cericd!

Yes, these are the beltlines. People also refer to them as scrapers or wipes. There were two styles. Chrome bead (as in cericd's picture), and the black style. Most people match the beltlines to the front windshield, so CWK 1116 67 with the black beltline is what I would recommend.

Most people refer to them as window sweeps and felts. As far as I know none of our trucks came from the factory with chrome or stainless bead on them. The OP said he was doing a frame off and that is why I recommended the black ones.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see the "Forum Jump" box. Click on the little down arrow on the right side of the box and in the window that pops up scroll down to the "Vendors Marketplace" forum.

All of the different forums on this board are listed in the window that pops up so you can look through them at your leisure......
