8 track player
I have an 8 track player for sale. I bought it from a guy who does restorations on these. According to him it has the correct end plugs and works just fine. I bought it for my truck, but life has changed my mind. I have not tried the radio and I have no way to test it. It does not have the mounting bracket, but I will include the factory 8 track demo tape. $450 US shipped OBO. Paypal.

Not sure if that is 100% correct for our trucks. Looks like a very nice piece though.

Period correct 68-72 trucks blazer and suburbans, dealer installed option. I have a complete NOS one with all mounting brackets wiring harness and little gm speakers. I'll try to post the wiring diagram and brochure later, gotta dig it outta the attic.

It is definitely from the correct time period. It is not like the ones I have seen in the past. Maybe they had a few different types for our trucks.

Mine has the "bowtie" logo vs. the "GM" logo. Guess it really doesn't matter because you will have an 8-track covering it anyway.........

What a nice piece. Now i've got Ferlin Husky's "on the wings of a snow white dove" playing in my head. As my late father's truck had an 8 track player in it and probably only 10 tapes in the truck, so you listened to the same one more than once while we traveled to Florida and back.

I know the guy is a member on this site. His user name here is hevy_chevy67 - so you can contact him that way if you're interested. I'm sure he has more available. I feel like I would be dishonest if I didn't say they are actually not the "true" original 8 tracks but they are extremely similar. They are Oldsmobile units that he goes through and restores and then paints and fixes them up to look pretty much identical to the original GM 8 tracks that people hunt for.
He does an excellent job - and at the prices he is asking - I think they are worth it. |
