door tension
I have a '69 C10 fleet. The doors close WAY to easy. Won't stay open if on any kind of a grade. I notice there's a double piece of metal(tensioner) I believe. If thats the what controls the closing tension, can I spread it apart to tighten the door up?

It should have a type of shims between that metal. They wear down like brake pads. They are replaceable.

They are generally called Friction pads -- if you do a search on the site for "Door Friction Pads" you will find a bunch of threads with pictures and ideas for repairing them.

Classic Parts . com has after market replacements #(18-531) for $12.95 a pair; and I am sure some of the other vendors on the board have some also.
I am not sure what kind of a job it is to replace them?

It looks like that rebuild kit also comes with new roll pins, which is very good. When I pushed out my original roll pins, they were rusted up pretty bad.
