Need Advice!

Im building a longbed C10 68 with a stright 6 250, looking to upgrade in terms of power. Looking for a 350, 327, or 383, if anyone has advice for me on where to find such engines or if they are looking to sell that would be great, looking for one in decent shape, don't want to put a huge amount of money into it but I am willing to invest a little bit.

Re: Need Advice!

Swapping from the 6 to the 8 adds up because of all the other parts needed. The cheapest way (IMO) is to buy a donor truck to swap all the parts from, including engine but at that point is the donor truck in the same condition? It may be cheaper to sell your truck & buy another. (all else equal, money being the issue)

Re: Need Advice!

I didn't buy the truck in the first place, its been in the family and landed in my shop, just looking to make a fun driver out of it, I was thinking I could swap with minimal financial damage... It already has discs in the front, power steering and power brakes, I was thinking a 350 swap from a 68 camaro or something, hard to find though
