Custom seat help

My truck is on the road, but I am not happy with my stock seat.
I have a picture I saved years ago and would like to see what it will take to have this seat built.

First thing I need to figure out, is what year seat this is? Late 50s Cadillac is my guess.

Might be better off trying to buy one and have it recovered rather than trying to take a stock C-10 seat and having an upholstery shop modify it?

Anyone have any more info on this truck? Is it a members truck?

Re: Custom seat help

That might be a Glide Engineering seat that has the center fold down arm rest option.

Re: Custom seat help

Look at these, I have thought about getting them, now I have 2005 Silverado 40/20/40 seats with integrated seat belts. They work but are a touch too tall.

That's what I was thinking as well. Looks like a Glide seat.

Yes I like this seat right here: https://www.discountvantruck.com/vin...tsAmerican.htm Just wish it had more color material options.

RocknRod They might sell you a set uncovered. Worth a call. Then just have the local shop cover them in whatever you like.

Re: Custom seat help

I believe that seat in the original photo is some form of stock seat. The backs appear to be too flat to be a Glide seat. I bought a Glide seat but had to give it away to my kids as the curvature of the backs was too severe for me to find any comfort.

Re: Custom seat help

It kind of depends on how much foam was used and how it was contoured. I've seen several of the same Glide seat frames end up finished with different back heights and contours depending on the customer and application.

I was going to go with a Glide bench seat thinking my original bench was too far gone, but my upholsterer redid my original bench seat with several different densities of foam (no metal springs) and contoured it with side bolsters and to my seat location and body dimensions (I'm short, so there is more height to the seat bottom). A lot of people don't believe my seat uses the original frame.
