Anybody have a hood tachometer?

So browsing Classic Industries, I see that they offer this for sale. http://www.classicindustries.com/pro.../a9100101.html
Just curious if anybody is running that, and how it looks.

Thumbs up Re: Anybody have a hood tachometer?

Never seen one on our model trucks. Seen them on the cars of this period but not trucks.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Anybody have a hood tachometer?

No, not for me. I figure trucks left plenty of room and places to put a tach, so no need to stick it outside. They even found a place for tachs in car dashes by the late-60s, but still put these on The Judge mostly for visual effect along with hood scoops, spoilers, stripes, and sporty exhaust tips. They are cool on what they came on but I see as unnecessary accessory add-on clutter.

Re: Anybody have a hood tachometer?

May not be correct but I first saw them on a 67 GTO. I do not think the 66 had it as an option. Not sure if I ever saw one on a chevy oem.

Re: Anybody have a hood tachometer?

Have one on my '69 GTO. No experience with the Dixco. Only Chevy that comes to mind with a hood tach was the Yenko Camaros. I believe they were Pontiac or Buick units with a Chevrolet sticker.

70 AMC Rebel Machine's had a hood tach in the hood scoop. Those crazy guys from Kenosha.
