Question rear axle ratio question

What rear axle ratios were available for the following:

1967 1 ton dually (133 inch wheelbase), small block V8, 4 speed.

I'd like to know what was standard equipment and what the optional ratios were. This is a factory small block, so I don't need to know the I6 #'s.

If different, also list ratios for the single rear axle as well.

All i could find written on the 67 C/30 rear options for daulies, is this;

Holy crap! Do you have any additional info from later years? How about single wheel rear axles as I'm not 100% convinced its a factory dually yet.

Here's what I'm thinking of buying

Yes it has a BB. But with those gears I may want to carry a gas pump, even though it has dual saddle tanks built into the flatbed.

I can't locate it in the 67 pages, but the rule of thumb on the other years (and I am sure there are a couple variances) is small block with auto, got 4.10, and all others got 4.56. I think the (later) big blocks may or may not have had 3.-something. but that may be only on the smaller trucks.
I wonder how much of a mutt that sucker is, all the cab chasdsis trucks with daul rear wheels were supposed th have factory clearance lights, and those are either dealer add ons, or aftermarrket, so i knda wonder if that is a 67 cab on a what ever year chassis, or what?

No doubt about it. It is a 1 ton frame with drums all around. I will check the VIN and model # to see if any of it corresponds to a 1 ton.

I can tell you the asking price is well below what the for sale sign indicates and it's been maintained. Oh the dash isn't cut either but the roof is (sunroof)

It does have the sm420 and power brakes

67 402BB stout th350 3.08's with a locker. Plan on tubs 18.5's out back! (thanks Burnsman!)



71 SWB Stepside, was a 250, now is a 402 Big Block with 4 speed and 3.73's ( was crushed by a tree, bed sold, motor pulled) was my first truck!... oh well...

72 LWB 4x4 350 4-speed 3.08's posi wearing army olive drab green (SOLD!)

68 BURB 50TH LOOKALIKE work in progress, soon to have 250-I6 with a 3-speed on the tree 4.11's and posi ( currently sitting in back yard tarped awaiting time, $$$, and lots of love!)

67 1 TON- work truck 396 sm 420 4-speed, flat bed 4.57 gears "big red" (my first landscape truck, very rusty and crusty! but still gets the job done when needed!)

well if it has the H072 rear axle, it could only have had 3 gear ratios from the factory. if it has factory duals, I would assume 5.14. The other two would be 4.57 and 4.11, but I am not sure how they assigned the ratios to different engines. I think I heard somewhere that if a C/30 had factory duals, then it came with the 5.14 gear ration, but I'm not sure if thats correct or not. And if it has the larger 11,000# Eaton axle, then it will be what Longhorn Man already said.

I thought that sounded odd...these books read liek stereo instructions...so I probably mis quoted it. 5.14 sounds more likely.

you may be right...according to my '69 GMC service manual, there were 2 rear axles available for CM-,CS-, and CE/3500 trucks, and also for the PS- and PE/3500 vans. the standard was the HO72, which came with 4.11, 4.57, or 5.14 gears. Optional was the H110 (f), which resembles a HO52/72 except the diff cover isn't removable (welded on), and the axle is larger. I can only find one set of gears for it...6.17.

the (f) denotes that the H110 can be had only with the SM465 and IFS040 front suspension, and without the 396.

all that being said, I dont think I have ever seen one of these in a 67-72. International 1 tons of this era had an optional axle available called the RA-15, is similar to this axle, but higher gear ratios (4.88) were available for it.
