I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
I'm usually pretty good at keeping track of everything but for some reason I cannot find my Wiper Motor hardware. Does anyone know what size the bolts are that hold the motor in and then what is the hardware that holds the arms on? Thanks a mucho.

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
there isn't a nut on the end of the bolt as far as the motor goes right?? Gosh I wish I would've ziploc'd them. Thanks!

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
Appreciate that guys. If you could tell me the size of the thread and how long I can probably pick up at hardware store. A photo might help with the arm assembly but I don't want to hassle anyone too much. I'm impressed with our Wilco Farm supply hardware collection from black chrome to stainless.

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
Well, take the free ones......both the wiper motor mounting bolts and the wiper link assembly mounting bolts are special.
They are not "normal" bolts, and no one, I mean no one, reproduces them. They have a beveled surface between the head and the threads to center the motor and the link assembly. The wiper motor bolts are longer than the wiper link bolts. |

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
Coincidentally, Getting ready to write up my notes now....Here you go:
The motor mounts using three 5/16" head machine screws with integrated "cup" star washers. The screw threads are #10 x 1" & 24 TC. Each wiper transmission uses two 5/16" head machine screws with integrated "cup" star washers. The screw threads are #10 x 1/2" & 24 TC. "Cup" meaning the little star washers form to the bottoms of the heads.

Here is a picture of the wiper machine screws. I don't think you will find them at a hardware store. You need 3 of the long ones and four of the short ones. LockDoc

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
That's the little fellows "integrated cup star washers". I don't know what else to call em. Hardware store? Good luck with that. I couldn't even find a screw for a washer jet today, Napa or Lowes. Napa had similar, but #8 and they use #10.

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
They are all on there way to you my friend, you have new bolts and mounting pads for the motor on the way from brothers and I have the transmission arm bolts on the way in an envelope I pulled from a parts truck I have.
Happy trucking my friend

Larry you are a gentleman and a scholar (remember that?) I sure hope your return address is somewhere so I can send you something even though I know you don't want anything. Thank you!

Re: I screwed up and lost my wiper motor hardware
The motor bolts I had were rusty and snapped when I tried to remove them so I figured new ones would work best. Nothing owed here just pay it forward somehow if you like.
