Sealant between Bed Floor/Bed sides/Wheel tubs

Curious what sealant was originally used? After disassembly, the remains of sealant seemed like a wax type substance. What product would be good to use for reassembly and future protection?

I used this on mine, I purchased it at O'Reilly. It is a bit expensive but seems like a good product

I guess only black is abvailable now, greyish white was original, same product is used on the firewall to heater box.
There is a picture of the usage in the Chevrolet salesman information, saw it here on the board a while back.

I've used strip caulk for most seals, heater box, firewall, rear fenders.
