Re: '72 Project Deplorable

This is where the OCD started kicking in so we filled the welding divots.

Re: '72 Project Deplorable

The final work of the weekend and pretty much where **** stated going south. The corner filler panel came out ok and I was happy with it. The filler strip for the cable tray is where a dumb idea didn't pay off. I decided I could muscle the strip around the bend and tac it as I went. WRONG! It'll take a bit of filler to smooth out the wrinkles I made. The other side will get a filler strip cut into the appropriate arc so that if funnels around the corner nicely... Huh, wish me luck.

Re: '72 Project Deplorable

It's amazing how easy it is to wrap metal around a corner in a cone shape when you start with the right shape. I'd like to thank Chicago Metal Rolled Products (http://www.cmrp.com/cone-calculator) for having an online handy-dandy cone template calculator. Now for a little more welding and allot more grinding, it'll be time for some filler to smooth things out.

Re: '72 Project Deplorable

Oh! And yes there was a casualty again this week. My pretty ceramic coated Tri-Y headers got trashed from grinder slag. Meh, I was thinking of wrapping them anyways.
