Yep they are big. Lug nuts are 1 1/2 inches. The holes for the 3/4 studs are probably an inch plus with a 45 degree bevel to them.

They were on old GM school buses (small ones) some 40's Ford commercial trucks and the flat fender Dodge Power Wagon and military trucks.
