Why not get the CD version? There is a search feature in it and it works pretty good.

This is true.

We still use assembly manuals today, but they have been "communized" across the divisions and "Corporate Best Practiced" to the point that they are almost not helpful. One of the things that has been removed is the part numbers on the sheet.

I had to get my eBay assmebly manual out over the weekend and I agree such a pita to find anything in particular.

When I did find what I needed the illustration was so vague I still googled it.

I think it took a week or 2 for the binding on mine to come apart....much to be desired.
