4l80 manual shift stuck in limp mode
Finished my 4l80 swap a few days ago. On the case connector, i have 12v to Pin E and Solenoids A and B grounded to toggle switches in the interior. She remains stuck in limp mode (2nd gear only).
this is how Ive got it wired https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1bA2pPm8G8 I don't have the TCC wired to ground yet. I also do not have the force motor/ PCS wired to to 12v or ground. Could this be the culprit? Or is it something else?

Re: 4l80 manual shift stuck in limp mode
Just drop the dime and buy a controller, I have a tci unit and it has been flawless for years. Easy install and fully programmable. Well worth it.

Re: 4l80 manual shift stuck in limp mode
If you do not have a computer it is not in Limp Mode. You need to find a ATSG service manual, it will tell you what needs to be activated in each gear and what each pin of the harness does.

Re: 4l80 manual shift stuck in limp mode
1750 rpm keeping it at 30 mph = stuck in 2nd gear. thats why i meant by "limp mode" i dont have 1st, 3rd or OD. will have to get back on this one....

Re: 4l80 manual shift stuck in limp mode
1st I'd finish wiring it and see if that fixes it.
2nd I agree with Gradys performance. I'm fairly certain limp mode is programmed into the engine computer. Since you have no computer there shouldn't be anything telling it to be in limp mode. |
