1972 gage cluster.
Disassembled my gage cluster to paint needle's and polish the lens. Got all that done fine all look's good. When I took it apart five black foam tubes about the size of a drinking straw about inch and a quarter long fell out before I could see where they went. Do they stand up in their to press against the lens to keep it from rattling? And if so or not where do they go?
Could sure use some help on this. Thanks terry. |

Re: 1972 gage cluster.
The foam pieces go above and below the guages between the bezel and the plexiglass. If you look at them you should see some crushed places one one side. These correspond with stiffening ridges on the back of the bezel. Sorry I'm not at home so I can't get a picture of the inside of the bezel for you now. Maybe someone else will. If not I will get one for you when I get home tonight. But maybe this will be enough information.

Re: 1972 gage cluster.
HO455 thanks for the help. Took it back apart and then understand where they went.
