suburban rear seat bolts?

My '61 GMC has slots for the seat bolts. I saw in an older thread that someone was actually making these bolts, but when I contacted them (sorry, I don't remember the name of the company) I was corrected.

What are people doing for these? My seats are going off to the upholsterer soon, and I want to be able to install them when they come back!

Tony at 4-5-6 trucks had a kit for the seat bolts. You can actually use 1/4" carriage bolts, wing nuts and get the half moon spacers machines...
How is the Burb coming along??

You can also find 1/4" "elevator bolts" which are really close. Try McMaster-Carr or Grainger...

1/4-20 elevator or step bolts will work just fine.

4-5-6 is the place I contacted last fall. The responses that I got to my email (and the horror stories I've read about his customer service) caused me to move on.

The 'burb is coming along great! Last fall I was able to replace the front turn signal lenses and harness, getting the front turn signals working again. I took the instrument cluster out and cleaned all the light contacts, which got the panel lights working. I built an original turn signal under-dash harness to eliminate the after-market unit, and replaced all the turn signal pieces in the column that were missing, and got the horn working while I was in there.

I had a Stromberg WW restored by a carb place (the butterflies were frozen shut, which put it past my comfort zone), and I cleaned and repainted the oil bath cleaner for it. Right now I'm sourcing the fuel line bits to get all that back together. I was also able to find a replacement fuel level sender, which I believe will fix the fuel gauge.

The wipers are back to original, I've got original fabric samples on hand for the re-upholstery, and I've got the gaskets and everything I'm going to need to get the back windows working again. I had a period GMC radio which I'm sending out to be converted to a modern bluetooth capable unit.

So all in all things are moving along, although more slowly than I'd hoped. I still feel like I'll have the major things tackled in time to get it to paint this summer.

Those bolts should work fine --- if head diameter is good.
Sounds like some great progress on the Burb --- keep it u and send some pics when you get seats done and installed.
Did you get side window rubber from Steele --- pricey but only ones that are right with correct molded corners --- all others are universal extrusions!!!

Yes those are the correct bolts but you will need them a bit longer than 1". I don't remember the exact length so you might do some measuring before you go and order them.

Yeah, I got the steele window rubber. I'm a little scared to take a window out and work on it, but I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon

Cap -- here's the only pic I've got of an original bolt -- if it's 1/4-20, then it can't be much longer than 1" -- maybe 1 1/4"?

Maybe your seats are different than what I am used to. The seats I am used to, the bolts go thru the round tube that the seat frame is made of, which is 7/8". I don't have a tape measure handy, but I'm guessing the bolts are 1-3/4"+

Here is correct bolt set up for rear seats --- the bolts measureabout 1 7/8" -- so 1 3/4" would prob be good..

I used regular carriage bolts on my 65's rear seats but instead of the wing nuts, I used lock nuts.
