Hardware Inventory for Moldings on a 69-72 Fleetside
I spent WAY too much time on this. First I had to list & ID what was in the assembly manual. Then ID what was applicable to my truck. Then check my parts to be sure I don't need anything. At least I had an assm. manual index to begin with, thanks to a few of our posters.
At the "end of the day" I confirmed that yeah, I do have all the parts. It wasn't a completely wasted effort by any means, because according to my inventory, which I'm pretty sure is factory correct as opposed consistent with the assembly manual, I have fewer holes to drill than I might have had I not checked the parts. The image explains why. Say, anyone comprehend page 662 in the assembly manual (Red highlight, image below)? Some of the measurements differ as compared to pages 660-661. Doesn't make sense, I'm missing something.

Re: Hardware Inventory for Moldings on a 69-72 Fleetside
This image is an example of one of the 3M clips. Not my image. These clips are not in the assm. manual. Word is the factory used them for 71-72.
I see some other variances between my parts and the manual, not noted in the above image (e.g., lower fender). Safe to say the book is just a guide, though the number of mounting points is consistent......I do wonder, you figure the factory drilled even when they planned on using 3M clips? HA!, no really. Alright, who worked at the factory?
