Buy new bumpers or look for GM driver quality???

I need different front and rear bumpers for my 72 Fleetside. It's original paint baked off from living in the southwest it's whole life. I don't plan to touch the paint. Do the reproductions look / fit as good as originals? I'm afraid new bumpers will stick out like a sore thumb. What are your thought or opinions?

my opinion... if it's originally a high option truck with lots of stainless trim, use chrome bumpers. if it's a base model low option truck, go with white painted, either new or original faded/patina.

Post pictures! My truck is covered in filth and patina and has chrome bumpers. I bought a replica chrome front bumper off ebay and its just as good as original.

I don't know about the fronts but unless they have changed them the aftermarket rears I have bought have a bow to them.

I've seen so many bowed looking rear bumpers that I actually believe it is some sort of optical illusion with these trucks ( fleet sides only ). Not kidding.

Agreed. I have a reproduction chrome rear bumper that gives that illusion, but you look down the top edge and it's dead straight.

Re: Buy new bumpers or look for GM driver quality???

Thanks for all the input. I'll post pictures of the truck soon, it currently has chrome on the front (dented/bent). The back has an aftermarket step style bumper. The truck will look way nicer with factory style unbent bumpers.
