Name That Body Module - Column Edition!
I'm pretty new to my 88 GMC project and I was hoping for a hand identifying stuff for future reference.
What's going on here is a pedal swap for my NV4500 transmission and I just don't know what i need to keep. Here's a few pictures if anyone feels inclined to assist me. Thanks! Tim it's a cluster of a few things, i know that shiny one is a flasher. pretty certain this is my ignition switch. The only other one i didn't take a picture of was the starter safety switch at the base of the steering column. this possibly might be useful for others too, i hope so. thanks again for looking and if you want to see what i am up to i have started a project thread in the project sections up there!^^^ |

I think the thing with the heat sink on it is a wiper delay module. It goes into the back of the wiper switch.

Re: Name That Body Module - Column Edition!
I'm doing the same on my 85. I just removed a column from a manual trans truck to swap into my auto trans truck along with the pedal assembly and the 4500. I would think that everything you showed would stay if your just swapping the trans?

Re: Name That Body Module - Column Edition!
i believe that relay in the third picture is the horn relay, i remember having to mess with it on my 86 when i was hooking up a ambulance style horn
second to last picture is your low beam / high beam switch, pull your turn signal lever and you should see the rod move behind it. last picture is your ignition switch.... probably want to keep that |

You need to keep it all...
1) Power window or lock relay 2) IDK 3) Buzzer 4-way flasker horn relay 4) Intermittent Wiper box 5) High Beam (headlight) switch 6) Ignition Switch |

Re: Name That Body Module - Column Edition!
That first one is for power locks ONLY-windows have nothing to do with that relay.

Prolly to cancel your cruze control.
If that relay in the 1st photo came from under the center of the dash then I think that's a starter relay. My M1008s have that there. |
