Re: Long tube headers

There are quite a few threads with recommendations for Header brands and part numbers for various fitment on these trucks.

My notes from researching BB headers on this forum:

C10 truck headers too low, headers for chevelle are just right ( no rub on a-arm )
clam shell motor mounts need mods to fit these with BBC ( use tubular or notch clam-shell mounts )
o Hedman Elites for a Chevelle Part number for the Hedman Elite Chevelle headers is 68198. My engine is a BB chevy
o Im running hooker chevelle full length headers #2455. I have a bbc and running POL'S tubular engine and tranny mount.
o see pictures of clamshell motormount mods: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=584177
o hooker super comp long tubes are working fine for me. they sit even with the lower frame rail.
O Here's the Hedman 69170 BBC headers. I'm running POL aftermarket mounts.
summary of part suggestions
hedman 68198 chevelle headers
hedman 69170
hooker 2455 full length

guy with 502ZZ used 69196 heddman's, these are mid length BBC for 67-72 C10

Re: Long tube headers

I put the SummitRacing brand ceramic coated long tube headers on the 350 in my C10. I had a small issue with the passenger header touching the motor mount. They also hang below the frame rails a bit, but I haven't seen any long tube headers that don't do that.

Re: Long tube headers

I bought Flowtech cermamic coated long tubes for a sbc c10, they were scratch and dent and I scratched and dented them where the already were. #1 tube rubs the motor mount, my factory fuel, return and vent line stuck out of the frame just behind motor mount and 1 of them rubbed there too, and they hang low. Like obvious through the wheel well. But They installed with only removing the spark plugs. Pass from the top down, and I think we did drivers side from bottom up. No leaks, look good.

Re: Long tube headers

I have headman long tube ceramic headers, fit great, but I will probably be replacing them soon, as they hang below the frame and if I want to drop the additional 2.5" I'm going to need headers that I can tuck up even with the frame rails.
