Post Solid Axle Swap for a IFS Truck?

Does anyone know about swapping a solid-axle onto a IFS truck? What all is entailed? could I just buy the front axle/steering set up off of a older/wrecked solid axle truck, and use that? Anyone that could lead me in the right direction, would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks In Advance.

Jason

What is the straight axle coming out of and what IFS truck are you planning on putting it into. It is not often I hear someone going this way. Usually it is going from a straight axle to IFS. I used to use a 67-72 Chevy van front axle when building street rods and it was all fabricating the needed parts and altering axle and steering assembly. If you are serious about going this way, let me know what you are using and I will try and give you a few things to think about before you get started.

I'm was curious about swapping a solid-axle onto a '99 Z-71. (old c/k body style)This way I could go a LOT taller, for cheaper. Albeit, by the time everything got swapped and wahtnot, it mihgt be just as expensive. I don't know which axles would work, or what parts I would need..I was kinda looking for ANY info I could get, or if there was any websites out about this kinda thing.

Z-71, oh, O.K. You are talking about four wheel drive front ends. Those I haven't touched. I thought you meant the old straight axle two wheel drive front end. Couldn't figure why you'd wanna do that.
