Longer Front Brake Hoses
I have a 71 GMC K1500 that will have a 2.5" lift when the build is complete. Is anyone aware of someone or someplace that sells longer front brake hoses? My current hoses are approx. 19" long. To utilize the mounting hole in the frame side rail, it looks like the hose needs to be 3-6" longer. I'm trying to avoid using a non original method of securing the brake line(like a lift kit would have you do.) .... Long as I'm asking, anyone know of a longer shock that has a regular dust shield and not a dust boot? .... Except for the small lift, this truck will be 95% stock and I'm just trying to keep the brake hoses and shocks looking stock.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
Offroad Design make longer hoses in various lengths. The catalog states they are for '73 & newer but they have a note that the hoses will fit 71-72 if your front brake lines are 3/16". My 71 GMC K25 has 3/16" lines.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
Not sure on the shocks. As far as brake lines, I wanted the stock looking black brake lines but ended up with some from skyjacker that I got from 4Wheel parts.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
offroad design has a dark brown outside cover skin that hides them good .
I have had them for years on a truck up here in the north east rust belt no problems. ditch the soft rubber hoses and go braided . firm pedal ! !

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
Lots of hydraulic hose shops can make custom length DOT hoses in rubber or braided. Call around those kind of shops aren't big on web sites.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
You can put your own together for about half the cost of what the assembled ones run. Inline tube sells braided line in any length you want, I think I got 21". Added a proper size -an banjo fitting and an adapter to fit the brake line and I think they came out to about 30 bucks each. I run it through the factory hole in the frame.
