52 inner cowl
Have any of you guys made your own? Mine is sort of smashed so I don't really know the original dimensions. Has anyone made theirs or does everyone just spend the 45 and order one?

I'd say it rather depends on one's fab skills. Some guys seem to be whip out a panel that fits and works great with relative ease while others of us just don't have the nack and welding in a premade panel solves the problem.
Offhand I don't know of any available diagrams with the measurements. Thinking about it for a minute it might depend on how much shop time one has available too. My work schedule doesn't give me any project time during the week and I only get a few hours for a project on the weekends usually. Add to that the shop I buy most of my sheetmetal at is 25 miles in the other direction past my home from where I work. It's often simpler just to buy a piece ready made that I can install rather than do all the running around to get the metal to do it.

Thanks Mr. 48,
Fortunately for me my dad is a sheet metal worker so getting metal has never been a problem. Before he was a sheet metal worker he was an auto body guy for about 15 years so if I can't build it he probably can. I was just wondering because it is a curved and bent piece if anyone had any war stories on making one. But hell for 40 some dollars buying one maybe worth the time and effort I can spend on something else. |

I said F it and ordered the inner cowl and went ahead and through in the lower door jam patch also. might as well save time since i'm fabbing everything else frame wise.
