Converting from carb to efi in california, charcoal canister
I am installing msd atomic efi tbi in my 1986 c 10 i live in california so must keep all emmisions and smog stuff, the charcoal canister in my truck now is for a carbureted engine and has several hose there is one for the carb bowl vent, the efi does not have a connection for this hose, should i just get a canister for an 1987 tbi truck that way i wont have a hose not hooked up for the smog natzies ? Also thete is only one large manifold port on the efi i need 2 large ports one for the brake booster and one for the pcv valve any suggestions on that

Re: Converting from carb to efi in california, charcoal canister
For the PVC, just get the appropriate plumbing to add the 2nd port. Most manifold ports are 3/8 pipe thread IIRC.
For the canister, if the MSD system is a CARB approved substitute for a carburetor, the MSD support site should have an approved way to properly handle the carb vent hose. |

I used an 87+ TBI canister in my truck and hooked the line up to ported vacuum so that it only pulls fumes under throttle.

Call your local smog refere, if u are trying to keep it legal they may have a few hoops you to jump threw.

More like a short nipple, tee, and whatever magic fittings needed for the pcv hose and brake connection. This assumes your single manifold port is threaded.
