Best 1968 C10 lowering options

Hello my names Cory I'm 24 years old and I have '68 longbed c10 that I bought recently. I decided the first step for me was to remove everything and focus on the suspension and brakes first. I would like to lower my truck significantly and am leaning towards bags with a c-notched frame. Here are my questions:
1. Any and all pro tips as far as do's and don'ts would be appreciated (as well as detailed pictures of the setup our are working with)
2. What are your favorite companies as far for air ride systems go?
3. Can airride be responsive when it comes to cornering/ braking/and acceleration? (I know I won't be pro touring with it but still how much abuse can they take? And I'm sure it depends on how much I spend on them but just in general)
4. How long to bags generally last under average circumstances?
5.I've never lowered a vehicle before so I was wondering if I still need drop spindles and custom mounts or if there are kits available with everything I need?

I'm sure this will only lead to more questions it's a start.
