Can you post a photo of the knob and location of where you have it?

If your Saginaw is a M26 or M27, why would you take off in 2nd gear? Isn't first 2.84?

Have you thought about modifying the linkage to get a shorter throw?

1). Manual trannies are fun.

2). Manual trannies that are different are more fun.

3). Manual trannies on the column free up floor space.

4). Combined with the bench seat, 3OTT makes for a convenient dating experience.

*Now I know some of (well maybe most of) you old farts don't "date" any more but some of us still do. I made use of my 3OTT and bench seat when I was in high school and my GF and I plan to use it as soon as I get that same old truck running again.

I would buy a 396 with 3OTT Chevy truck.
She's supposed to be over by the passenger's side door so you can take advantage of the chrome plated glove box door. *cough* pantyshot *cough*

Here ya go. My reverse knob.
Down under the seat little off too the right of your thigh when your sitting in it.
When sitting in the truck you can just barely see the knob between the buddy seat and bucket.
The cable is screwed onto a bracket thats u bolted onto the frame for the seats.
Second pic is of the cable onto the trans and the bracket I made.
Little tough getting under there without jacking.

It's just a putt putt around truck no need for speed shifting but first and second go pretty quick anyway.
I usually do use first but not for long.

There is a fella on here somewhere that used a overdrive from a 3spd and put it into his 4spd. That really interested me for my setup.

I like the no ring sag's I abused one for yrs in my car till it gave up on me.
now it's got a 3 ringer and I don't care for that one....but it works.

Op Sorry for the jack

The funny thing is, a saginaw isn't a real stout tranny, unless they make a HD version of it. I think I'd be inclined to put a 4 speed on the floor in it.

No they certainly are not the strongest, but work perfectly fine if your not abusing them.
I think the 3 spd takes way more abuse than a 4.
