Ram horn exhaust
Good evening,
I would like to put a set of gm ramhorn exhuast manifolds on my 86 gmc with a 305 v8. I would quess this is not the first time the question has come up. Based on my appraisal of the situation the early ramhorns should fit. Does any one have experience and recommendations ? Thank you |

Re: Ram horn exhaust
Hi there, no offence, but why do you want to put on rams horns? I have had numerous vehicles with rams horns, and not a big fan. My issues were the rams horns sit high by valve covers and tend to "bake" gaskets causing frequent leaks. You need super long spark plug wires to route behind , and around engine to get to plugs. My favorite manifolds were the early-mid 70's style. Nice and low, and you can get away with short spark plug wires coming from the top. Just my opinion.

Re: Ram horn exhaust
I am not married to the ramhorns it just appeared to be a improved solution to increase exhaust flow without the issues of installing headers . It appeared from my research if I could find the exhaust manifolds from a mid 80's IROC z28 one a Monte Carlo SS I could also accomplish increases . I'll be nstalling an aluminum intake from an IROC soon
Thank you I'll look into to the manifolds |
