Back to the chevy trucks
my first truck was a 76 chevy long bed 1500 2wd. It had a mildly built sbc in it with a th350. Since then I have had over a dozen square body chevy trucks mainly wheeling rigs that were beyond help when I picked them up. A few K5s also.
I sold my bmw and decided to get a c10 for a daily driver and picked the attached truck up. I member on here actually built it http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=636571 This is going to be a budget daily driver cruiser. Has plenty of rust and tons of character. Right now it is just getting a tune up and fixing a few little issues. Should start driving it next week. I am hoping to be into this truck for under 5k all said and done. And efi is going to be the only big money spent. future plans: 4 link with rear bags (trading a stereo install for a 4 link kit) efi (just to make it a year round driver) build myself a heater/defroster (parts I have sitting around) finish the rear wood bed (leftover fence boards) 20s/22s |

Re: Back to the chevy trucks
That truck looks cool, I'll give it that. But I hope for your sake that you at least knew what you were getting when you bought it. I followed that build thread and there was some sketchy stuff going on in there. We are supposed to be a polite and cordial bunch, so I won't say any more than that. Good luck with the truck and I look forward to seeing what improvements you make.

Re: Back to the chevy trucks
Thanks, I will post updates.
I knew what I was getting into and its a solid truck that just needs some tweaking. And the price was right. The 4 link in the rear will help a lot I think. runs and drives down the road great. trying to decide on keeping the 2bl or swapping over to a 750. but that is alot of carb for a stock sbc. we will see. this weekend putting on a msd ingnition system. And in a month or so picking up https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fif-31003/overview/ and then should run like a top. |

Re: Back to the chevy trucks
If you are swapping to efi I wouldn't waste my money on the 750 carb.
