Quadrajet questions?

New to me electric choke q-jet.
I don't have the L shape connection for the choke, will it affect the carburetor performance to drive it with out 12V to the choke???

Re: Quadrajet questions?

Well it will affect the choke. If the choke is open you should be able to start and drive it in warm weather. The L-shaped connector is available at car parts stores. BWD Part # PT762

Re: Quadrajet questions?

Thanks.
It is 85-90° here the choke really isn't an issue, the leaky holley spread bore that it replaced was wired open.

And just key on 12v is all that's needed?

Re: Quadrajet questions?

Yes, key on 12V. Some people here on the forum have wired it to an oil pressure switch so the power is applied beginning when the engine actually starts running, which would be a little fancier setup.

Re: Quadrajet questions?

I have soldered a wire to the term. You really need the choke on a Q-jet. The electric choke works real good. If you don't hook up to it you will need to wire it open.

Re: Quadrajet questions?

Chasing the plug today, if no luck I'll zip tie it open.
It runs so much better with the q jet.

Jeez finally have old blue holding water and fuel.
