MI: Trailer Hitch

I'm interested in a frame mounted hitch for my 69 C-10. It has a regular painted rear bumper, not a step bumper. Did they change the frame in 73 or can I get a frame hitch from 73-87 that would bolt on? I don't really want to have to rework one if I don't have to. I'd like one that would sit back behind the license plate or at least out no farther out than that.

Hey fellow Michigander. Don't know about 1973 hitch but LMC sells a nice one for our trucks.

I have a class 4 receiver hitch off a square body truck bolted up to mine. It doesn't stick past the license plate, just even underneath it (if that makes sense)

I've seen them in the LMC catalog, they look similar to some of the Universal hitches available. I don't know if I really need one, it just seems like it would be nice if I ever needed it. I'm also in the process of installing a gas tank in the rear, so I need to finish that first.
Born in Jackson, lived in Michigan Center. Still have relation in that area. Thanks, Donn

What year square body did you get that from and what did you have to do (if anything) to make it fit. Thanks

Re: MI: Trailer Hitch

I have a Hidden Hitch brand class III/IV hitch for 67-72 trucks. I think it's new, never bolted on so I don't know how far it sticks out. I'm not going to use it and will sell for $150. Shipping might be a deal killer??
