Need help on removing TBI computer and keeping AC functional
I am in the middle of an LS swap currently and I have removed the entire TBI wiring harness and ECU from my 87 pickup. For some reason I didn't catch the part of the AC wiring was routed through the ECU. It's just one wire that runs to what I believe is the high pressure switch. I am assuming it uses this to manipulate idle when the AC kicks and bump it up? At is it actively receiving a turn on request to subsequently engage the clutch of the compressor?

Re: Need help on removing TBI computer and keeping AC functional
I took that circuit out of my TBI harness, but I believe you're right that it's just a signal wire to tell the ECM to increase idle. Same as the park/neutral switch does.
Looking at my diagram right now, it appears to be a dark green wire that goes to terminal B5 of the ECM plug.

Yep, that's the one. My new ls1 harness has an ac request wire that I believe if tied in to there would serve the exact same purpose. I will give that a shot and see how it goes. Hoping to get this thing running soon.
Thanks for the feedback! |

Glad it's all figured out. Are you looking the sell the harness and ECU? I'm still looking for a good (uncut) one.

I don't mind getting rid of it. I would need to check and make sure it's not cut. It is cut at the bulkhead connector because I had no choice. Lol. I don't think I still have the ecu but I will check.
