78 k20 parking brake cable guides

Anyone have pics on inter cable guides placement from where the front cable meets the intermediate cable towards the rear? LMC pic doesn't show enough detail.

Re: 78 k20 parking brake cable guides

I have a 79 GMC K20, the guide rods are attached to an "L" shaped bracket that drops below the frame (both sides) I have seen others, IIRC they attach at one of the holes in your lower frame rail ( there are three holes visible in your pic, my guess would be the rear one). You may be able to see a witness mark where the old guide rod was.

Re: 78 k20 parking brake cable guides

Put this on the sidelines for a while but still need pics. Background: I installed a new front cable and according to the service manual, there should be 1 long and 1 short guide on the pass. side. Adjuster and 1 short guide on the driver side (see pic).
My problem is: I can get the drivers side on with some force but No Way on the passenger side. I have the adjuster loosened as much as possible. Even been to several junk yards with no luck. Plus, the guides have to go on the bottom of the "C" frame and not on the side like the pic shows due to where the rear cables start. I'm guessing the guides are hardened steel and am about to make my own unless I can get this figured out. It's kicking my arse!
