Starving for fuel?
Had a weird thing happen twice recently. Long steady uphill pull, engine runs fine for awhile but after a few minutes it bogs like no fuel, then takes off, then bogs over & over. Plenty of gas in the tank, runs fine downhill or level ground. Fuel lines & filter are new.
My guess is an old tired fuel pump that cannot deliver enough flow when the engine is working extra hard and needs more fuel. Sound reasonable? Has anyone had this happen before? I'm ready to replace the fuel pump -- just didn't want to start throwing parts at it.

Re: Starving for fuel?
Pull sending unit and look for fuel sock issues or stuff floating in tank.
Mine did that for a while. but after many many stand on the gas instances, it appears to have gone away

Re: Starving for fuel?
Thanks for the reply! I have three tanks and today it crapped out on the half-full main (cab) tank so I switched to the full left side saddle tank. It did exactly the same thing, so it doesn't seem to be tank-related.
Lucky your problem went away! Mine only appears during those extended stand-on-the-gas episodes.....

Re: Starving for fuel?
Checked my records -- it was last replaced in Oct. 1991. Guess I got my money's worth.
