Re: Radiator opinion.

I recently purchased a no name 3 core aluminum radiator from the ebay for my 69 (the price was right in a pinch.) Now, it sits in front of a mildly warmed inline 250, which probably doesn't produce as much heat as a SBC (lots of circulation space around the 6!) but the original 1 core was by 2017, pretty taxed doing its job. I swapped my 180 thermostat out for a 195* and so far it cools without fault. Engine runs at an average of 193* and I have even experienced a slight MPG increase with the warmer running temp. Until I discover a reason to knock it, I'll put the $300 I saved towards something else. Stay COOL !!

Re: Radiator opinion.

I had an eBay special all aluminum rad crap out on me within a few months. Replaced it with what I should've done in the first place- a factory style replacement from O'Reilly. Yep, it's alum/plastic, but so are the ones in my 5.3 Silverado & Suburban, my kid's Sonoma, my Mercury, and just about every new vehicle produced for the last couple two or so decades. And if it craps out on me 250 miles from home, I find an O'Reillys and warranty it rather than wait to try my luck at warranting it thru the ol' Interweb.

Very good point. A warranty is a good thing.
What does it have for cooling, does it have two 1" rows?

Re: Radiator opinion.

Yeah, I believe so. It's as big as the old four row brass/copper rad that came out of it but it's a two row. No cooling issues w it so far.

Re: Radiator opinion.

Got my fore row radiator from rock auto today. Appears to be copper on the side tanks. As you can see on the bottom Inlet where the paint is missing. Be a while before I get to use it. Not bad for 150 to my door. Hopefully it works well. Might be overkill for 350.

Is that the same one I mentioned on this thread? *It sure looks like it.

Re: Radiator opinion.

There is only a 30 day warranty. Because it is a closeout price. Forgot to add that. Part number is 433369.

Re: Radiator opinion.

I ordered the same radiator from Rockauto and it is a 4 row copper/brass radiator. $130 compared to $400+ through most vendors for a factory style replacement.

Re: Radiator opinion.

You can't beat the price. It will be a while before I get to try it out though. But it seems like too good a deal to pass up.
