ECE Auto Crossmember

This dovetails into weim55's thread, but didn't want to derail;

I'm switching from 6 cyl, 3 speed column (bell housing mount) to LM7/4L60E. I see some of you have used this ECE crossmember

Is this the preferred xmember? I don't have a factory one laying around. I should have titled this 'Stexags stupid LS questions thread', it will likely be the first of many.

Thanks.

Re: ECE Auto Crossmember

Used it also made it easier to run my exhaust above the x member.

Re: ECE Auto Crossmember

I got the engine and transmission mounted and I'm turning my attention to the driveshaft.

Obviously I need a new yoke to marry up to the 4L60 but I see online lots of length options. The yoke out of my 3 speed was 5" long from center of the u joint to the end. Is there a minimum length for the newer auto transmission tailshaft? I see I can order them in varying lengths.
