The shorter bottle jacks should fit just fine. Its the spring that holds the jack in place on the mount which is almost basically flat.

Thanks. I currently have a floor jack in a plastic box with fluid hoses etc but it weighs a ton. The only other concern I have is if the jack is going to leak being layed on its side.
