Need some help identifying a 327 code :-)

Need some help identifying my engine guys and I know this would be a good place to ask. I have a 72 c15 with a rebuilt 327 in it, truck was sitting for sometime before I bought it. i was told it has a 327, maybe a large journal from a 69 camaro . I have pictures of stamp in front of block by radiator. i was told it was a destroked 350 build. I want to do some work on it and would like to know a bit more about the current set up besides the obvious. In not good with engine codes and asking for help, or if anyone can point me into the correct direction. What year engine model I am dealing with. I3Y148494 T0206GKJ is what I see in that order next to each other left to right. The second set of numbers may end in ckj, I can not tell much.

Thats not a casting numbers. Casting numbers are on the back left side where the trans bolts up. Right behind the head on the drivers side. GKJ is not a listed engine code suffix that I can find. If it is ckj as it appears to be on my screen, thats a '73 350 block.

GKJ=is CKJ=350ci, 175hp, 400th trans, L-48RPO Code, 4bbl carb, Vin code k, From a Impala or Chevelle.
Wilmington assy built Caprices and Impalas but not Chevelles so your engine originally was in a Impala.

Ok, in ball park of what I got from my research as well. Thank you. I see the block has some lt hooker headers, camel hump heads, 2 plain high rise performer rpm intake, holly 670 4 brl carb, and was told it was destroked from a 350 to 327 like a camaro. Seems as if it has a small cam in it as well. It is hooked up to a th350 with a 2500 stall and lit with msd ignition. What kind of power am I expecting from this set up. Should I keep it, seems freshly rebuilt or put a 350 crank back in with a different set of heads.

From what I have read so far, I see no reason to consider changing a thing.

It feels sluggish on the take off the stall can have something to do with that and my tac does not work for some reason I will be fixing that this weekend. Kick down cable is not hooked up either. What kind of output should I expect from a set up as this destroked 350 with 327 crank. I will checking rear end gears too, I have only had the truck few days now.

In 1969 this same engine , l-48 was rated at 300 horsepower , crazy how they castrated them in 4 years

too many variables to give a estimate of power, is it a 327 or a 350 ?, why a stall converter, endless cam choices for a small block, you will never know unless you take it apart,or you can live with it and make it run as well as possible, my guess its a 350 stocker, and its a truck not a dragster

I was told It is a destroked 350 (327), not a 350 crank so not stock but block, still 4in bore... Shorter stroke. It has performer rpm dual plane intake, 4brl holly sa 650, hooker lt headers, camel hump heads 461 I think or 462 I will know when I take off covers, electric fan, stall is because you get more torque at 2500 to wheels on a th350 with a 327. I'm fairly sure it has a small cam in it. This is what I remember seeing on it. I'm working a shut down till tomorrow and will have time to check more and maybe get inside the engine sunday. From what I remember 327s had hard time idling on an auto trans without a stall I think that is why it was added on the truck when swap was done, not sure. I also saw a new starter and heavy duty fly when I slid under cab. I was told the destroked 350 was built as a comp elminator for a camaro, 327 was max ci. This engine was directly dropped in. Heads dont have accessory hole for my compressor too :-/ but compressor was still given to me when I bought truck. I need to flush engine again and fluids, gave it new oil last sat and new fuel filter, tune the carb some more. Truck starts on first turn no prob. I plan on all new suspension, shocks, and brakes soon, rear disk conversion as well when I get to it.
