72 C10 with Vette Rear End?
Here is a question for all of you. While thinking of the suspension upgrades and all the possibilities the thought came to mind about a 29 rod I helped a friend build. Has anyone on here ever swapped the stock 12 bolt in one of these trucks for a Vette rear end?
Obviously it would be some fab work and some imagination.... 4 wheel independent suspension would be cool. Not sure how much shorter the Vette rear is, but in moving the mounting plate further in, it would allow for much deeper/wider wheels. The truck is already tubbed, so plenty clearance there. Gotta love a challenge... |

Re: 72 C10 with Vette Rear End?
I was at a swap meet in Vegas about 4 months ago and a complet 72 vette rear went for 350.
I have seen a jag rear under a truck too. go figure! |

Re: 72 C10 with Vette Rear End?
I think it would be a cool upgrade just concerned about the amount of work. I'm not quite 50 any more... Just a little harder to get off the ground than it once was...
About 5 years ago I found a salvage yard that specialized in Vettes. They sold me an auto -trans, connecting beam and rear end for I think about $2K. Everything was good and didn't need any work other than mounting it to the 29 Ford we were building. (I know that is a bad word) If you know of anyone that has this setup and can post some pictures of how they did it, I would appreciate that greatly.
