Re: 350 crate engine intake and carb possible for $3,000?
Will the factory exhaust manifolds work with the vortec. And does it have drilled dipstick holes on both sides? ?

Re: 350 crate engine intake and carb possible for $3,000?
My daughter upped my spending limit to $4000, with that I'll need to include a dual exhaust. I did my exhaust for around $300. If I do a similar exhaust that will leave me $3700 but I'll need to get everything with it, intake, carb, waterpump, etc. any suggestions? She wants it to be strong and sound mean.

I looked one up and from what I read to use in in a non computer controlled truck I would need to replace the cam. Unless I'm reading it wrong?

Re: 350 crate engine intake and carb possible for $3,000?
You don't need to replace the cam. I'm replacing mine because the block I have happens to be drilled for a mechanical fuel pump, but most of them aren't. That just means you need to run an electric fuel pump (and probably a pressure regulator).
The stock cam will make plenty of torque and horsepower with a carburetor (I like Quadrajets) and HEI ingition. I'm running rams horns (2 1/2 inch Dorman) exhaust manifolds on mine because I got tired of messing with the headers. |

No need to change the cam.. no need to change anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bolt on a carb intake. plumb in an electric fuel pump put a melonized gear on your distributor.. and a water pump, and your brackets and p/steer pump , alt, and start it.. |

Re: 350 crate engine intake and carb possible for $3,000?
Do you know if the block has the clutch lever mount for a four speed? Been trying to get through to summits tech support all morning but it's been busy. Also wondering if I'll have any issues with the flywheel and if it takes a different starter than a regular 350? Will the ram horn exhaust manifolds from the 307 fit? Thanks!

Don't look at the exhaust tips! We cut those later and put on some stainless tips.

Yea! I gave her the truck, that was as far as my generosity goes! And thanks!

Looks great and I am seriously considering that same engine. Can you share the link where you got it for $2400? Thanks!
